Profits and Your Blog
August 8, 2006
One thing a long-time blogger learns about earnings is that the amount of traffic is not a basis for forecasting your blog profit. When you add a counter for your blog, that string of numbers doesn’t figure in your computation, besides seeing a blogger counter on your blog is a way to impress visitors and establish credibility. Its the data and information that comes from the counter for your blog, listing by IP address or by browser, expect the blogger counter on your blog to generate information about a visitors activity when clicking the link going to your blog or clicking you from a search engine PR page. Forecasting your earnings must be based on the number of unique visits you have daily. This number is variable and not always at its peak, to have it at a constant rise is to have the other elements of a blog to keep visitors coming back for more.
Keeping track of my blog’s progress was tricky when there was no traffic counter on my blog. Aspiring to be a true-blue and dedicated blogger, it also helps to seek out help from more established bloggers in the web. Blogs are about networking and with a counter on your blog you get to have an idea about every uniques visitor you have. Profit in blogging can never be achieved if a blogspot doesn’t take visitor information seriously. A counter generates data daily, weekly, monthly and at the end of a year you get a clearer picture of how your blog activity was on ‘go for gold’ days or how depressing on crappy days.
With experience and an open mind, a blogger reaches a plateau when the low performance days are practically nil. Data given by your counter are dependent on each other and neglecting one aspect contradicts your dream of blogging income. A blog in route to greatness is one with a cornered market or niche with several sub-topics as a whole make up an interesting blog. Keeping a continuous stream of unique visits for years of blogging is a feat that is attainable and reachable.
Earning with a blog whether by pay-per-click ads, Google ads, associate commissions or product/ service selling blogs the success is basic and simple: niche, content, solid networking (links) and design. Blogging offers a lot each year, every goal in the horizon becomes a marker you just passed on the way to the next. Learn more a understanding your site in our Introduction to Web Statistics.
